After a month-long poll, the new hero to be implemented in Heroes of Newerth upon release will be the Geomancer-like Intelligence hero. With an attack damage as 45-55 and a range of 500, it should be thought of as a supporter hero.
The hero holds four spells. The first spell is 'Dig' which allows the hero to burrow underground and resurface with great force.When surfacing a big explosion will emerge, stunning and dealing damage to enemies.
The yet unnamed hero also holds 'Quicksand', an ability to create a pit of quicksand at a targeted location. Each charge affects -20% movement speed.
'Earth's Grasp' is a rock hand that erupts from the ground which have the ability to move back enemy units. Level on edamage only hits 75 magic damage, ut the hand can move the unit back 200 units.
For its ultimate spell, the hero has 'Fossilization'. Placing the spell on an enemy turns the enemy to stone. The target will take damage if it's not moving or moving slowly. The spell is dispeled after the target has run 1000 units.
Other heroes in the poll included a gamer hero with a Death Knightish feel, and a chaotic hero with dark magic.
The unit is subjected to change in terms of numbers and theme, but the skill concept will remain.

Rhapsody Skills
Staccato: Deals 50/60/70/80 Magic Damage and a 1 second stun to target, then applies 1/2/3/4 charges to Staccato. Staccato can be used further, each time consuming a charge and dealing 50 Magic Damage and a .25 second stun. Disco Inferno: Lays down a dance floor of groovetacular moves. Allies standing still in the dance floor will heal 10/20/30/40 Health per second, while enemies standing still in the dance floor suffer 20/40/60/80 Magic Damage per second. The effect lingers for .5 seconds after the target begins to move. Arcane Hymn: Nearby allies’ spells are enhanced by an aura and gain 6/12/18/24 Magic Damage Lifesteal and 1/2/3/4 Magic Armor Penetration. Protective Melody: Channels for up to 4/5/6 seconds. While channeling, grants nearby allies in a 500 radius 1000 Armor and Magic Armor. Rhapsody Skill Build Staccato and Disco Inferno combo perfectly together. Use the pulses on Staccato to cause enemies to stop for a bit, then do it again after .5 seconds (when the linger on Disco Inferno wears out) to re-apply. Staccato can be used to interrupt attack and cast animations if timed correctly. It can give you a huge advantage in early exchanges. To take advantage of Arcane Hymn, your allies must be in the aura while damage is being done. Make sure the Thunderbringer is standing near you when he ultimates! Protective Melody is best used in clutch reactionary situations. Don’t use it pre-emptively unless you’re absolutely sure they’re going to initiate! It has a low duration, and is HUGE if used right as it will waste enemy attacks and spell casts, as well as divert attention to you.
